Description
Wine Advocate #150 Dec 2003 Robert M. Parker, Jr. 89 Drink: Now The perplexing 2000 Cinq Cepages Proprietary Red (a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot) reveals mid-ninety point aromatics … truly a splendid bouquet that reminded me of a high-class Bordeaux St.-Emilion (dried herbs, tobacco smoke, licorice, chocolate, black currants, and cherries). However, the stunning aromas do not follow through in the mouth. This medium-bodied, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2000 starts off sweet and authoritatively on the palate, but the finish is narrow and tannic. It is typical of the 2000 vintage, which can deliver considerable fragrance, but often lacks texture and reveals a narrow, constricted aftertaste. Drink this 2000 now .
