With fruit from one of my favorite sites in Castiglione Falletto, the
Oddero 2022 Barolo Villero is beautifully polished and finely tuned,
revealing an expansive bouquet that embraces aromas of wild
cherry, rose, sweet spice and subtle earthy notes. The wine is
generous in personality with rich underlying fruit, yet it remains
focused and chiseled in terms of texture. It is fermented
spontaneously and aged for 25 months in 42-hectoliter oak casks.
It wraps fully across the palate with impressive concentration and
fruit weight, while vibrant acidity and refined tannins keep the
finish balanced and remarkably energetic. This is a release of
5,400 bottles.
