The 1997 Fonseca is a mature classic Vintage Port from one of the Douro’s historic Port houses. Nearly three decades of bottle age have transformed Fonseca’s characteristic richness and dark fruit into a beautifully integrated combination of blackberry, raspberry, dried fruit, chocolate, spice and subtle savory complexity.

The palate remains rich and full, with mature sweetness, integrated tannin and the long finish expected from traditionally made Vintage Port. The 1997 is particularly attractive today because it combines genuine bottle-aged complexity with enough fruit and structure to remain compelling at the table.

Drinking beautifully now.

Pair with Stilton or other blue cheeses, dark chocolate desserts, roasted nuts, or enjoy slowly on its own after dinner.
