Description
wine makers notes Super-concentrated nose of blackberry, kirsch, moist tobacco, subtle incense and sandalwood really light up the senses. The 2013 equally delivers on the palate, with density, persistence, structure and superb concentration of flavor. This is a prodigious wine, one of the best cabernet sauvignons I can recall us making. The stuffing on this will allow it to age beyond any of our lifespans. Nonetheless, the considerable tannins are velvety and the wine pleasurably rolls around the mouth even at this young age (bottled in July 2015). Classic Pride Mountain flavors of dark ripe berries, a range of baking spice nuances, cedar and mocha. Appellation: 72% Napa 28% Sonoma Vintage: 2013 Harvest: November 2013 Fermentation: Stainless Steel Cooperage: French Oak Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon 8% Petit Verdot 5% Merlot Alcohol: 14.6% Bottling: July 2015 Production: 5728 cases Release Date: November 2015 Rating: 91 Medium-dark ruby; attractive, deep, black cherry and blackberry fruit aroma with hints of cassis, dried herbs, cocoa, baking spices, and sandalwood; full body; big, rich, cedary extracted, plummy, ripe blackberry fruit flavors; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Currently a bit rough in the mouthfeel, deserving a good three to five more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. California Grapevine: April 2016, Volume 42 Rating: 91 Medium-dark ruby; attractive, deep, black cherry and blackberry fruit aroma with hints of cassis, dried herbs, cocoa, baking spices, and sandalwood; full body; big, rich, cedary extracted, plummy, ripe blackberry fruit flavors; full tannin; lingering aftertaste.
